Our Statement of Faith

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Harvest Network International based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

Trinity

We believe in the one and only God who has revealed Himself to us. In His work of creation, redemption and sanctification, He has designated and manifested Himself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We, therefore, confess our faith in the Triune God, three distinct Persons in one God-head. (Deut 6:4; Isa 9:6)

God

We believe in God the Father, the Creator, Preserver and sustainer of the whole creation, who in His divine majesty is infinitely exalted above all creation. In fatherly compassion, He seeks the present and eternal welfare of man whom He made in His own image, but who had fallen into sin and lived in the bondage of Satan. (Rom 8:15)

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ, true God and true man, came into the world to be the Redeemer of mankind. By becoming one with man in the incarnation, Christ entered into decisive conflict on man’s behalf with Satan and sin. By His perfect life, He was the Lamb of God who fulfilled the divine law and who suffered and died on the cross in our place, making payment for our sins. By His resurrection, He released us from the power of sin, death, and the devil. In His victory we are victorious. He has freed us to be His own, live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness. We look forward to His soon coming. (John 1:29; 10:10; I Thess 4:13-17)

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who regenerates every believer by effecting genuine repentance and a saving faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. We believe that to all who receive Jesus is given the power (The Holy Spirit) to become children of God. That Jesus Christ, the risen and ascended Lord has promised to baptize (empower, fill) every seeking and asking believer with the Holy Spirit, His gifts and fruit so that the body of Christ (the Church) might be able to carry on the supernatural ministry of Christ, the Great Commission. (Matt 28:18-20; Luke 11:9-13; John 1:12; 3:5-8; 14:12; Acts 1:5,8; 2:38-39; I Cor 6:11; 12:3-11; 13; Gal 5:22-23)

Scripture

We regard the Holy Scriptures as Jesus did. We accept the Bible (canonical Books of the Old and New Testaments as a whole and in all their parts) as the Divinely inspired, revealed and inerrant Word of God. We submit to this as the only infallible authority in all matters of faith and life. (Matt 4:4; 7:24-27; 22:29; Luke 8:11; 24:25-27,44,45; John 8:31-32; 10:35; 16:12- 14)

The Apostle's Creed

We accept the Apostles’ Creed: "I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth: And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried: He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead: He ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The Holy Christian Church, the Communion of the Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen."

Five-Fold Ministry

We are thankful to the Father for the Gift ministries of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher for the building up of the Body of Christ. We are also thankful to the Father for the gifts of reconciliation, service, healing, and the many other ministry gifts. (Eph 4:8-13; I Tim 3:16-17)

Church

We believe that the local congregation is a body of true believers; submitted unto the Father being conformed to the image of Jesus to declare the Gospel empowered by the Holy Spirit. The local congregation calls its own pastors, conducts its own ministry (with reference to its own ministry, this includes liturgy, vestments, baptism, communion), owns and cares for its own property. We believe that the Head of the Church is the Lord Jesus Christ. (Rom 8:29; Eph 1:22-23; Col 1:18James 4:7; I Pet 2:9; Rev 1:5-6)

Marriage

We believe that God created man and that He created them biologically male and biologically female. As such He created them different so as to complement and complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage, in life-long covenantal commitment, between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. This union is a picture of the relationship between Christ and the Church. We believe that sexual relations are exercised solely within monogamous marriage between one biological man and one biological woman. (Gen 2:24; Matt. 19:4-6; John 4:16-18; Rom 1:18-32; 1 Cor 5:11, 6:9-11, 18-20, 7:1-3, 8-9; Gal 5:19-21; Eph 5:3-7; 1 Tim 1:9-11)

Life

We believe that all human life is a sacred gift from God, created in His image, and is to be protected and defended from conception to natural death. We also believe that one’s gender (male or female) is defined by God at conception and revealed at birth. (Gen 1:26-27, 3:20; Exodus 20:13; Ps. 22:9-10, 139:13-16; Jer. 1:4; Rom 9:9-11)
